Evertec donates $50,000 to non-profit organizations

Conscientes de la gran labor que realizan las organizaciones sin fines de lucro en Puerto Rico.

(San Juan, PR – November 30, 2020) – Aware of the great work carried out by non-profit organizations in Puerto Rico, Evertec announced today that it will donate $50,000 to the #GivingTuesdayPR initiative to match the collections of up to 45 non-profit organizations that benefit from this global initiative which will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, December 1st.

Alexandra López, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Evertec, indicated that, “The Third Sector has been instrumental in the recovery and development of our country. They are the first to respond in times of crisis and one of their great challenges continues to be obtaining funds for their operations. We have witnessed its management during hurricanes, earthquakes, and the global pandemic. For this reason, at Evertec, we are going to match the first $45,000 received through the local initiative. Additionally, we will donate $5,000 to the Alianza para el Desarrollo del Tercer Sector Puertorriqueño, in its efforts to promote the work of non-profit organizations“.

Evertec calls on the more than 1.5 million ATH Móvil users and private companies in Puerto Rico to join this effort and support with their donation to the non-profit organization of their choice that is participating in #GivingTuesdayPR. In this way, the organizations’ fundraising opportunities will increase.

In turn, Roberto Soto Acosta, president of Alianza para el Desarrollo del Tercer Sector Puertorriqueño and global representative of #GivingTuesdayPR expressed, “We are very grateful to Evertec for all their support for the past two years. This particular “matching gifts” initiative fills us with great enthusiasm because we know that it will undoubtedly be a great incentive for organizations to promote their #GivingTuesday projects to potential #GivingTuesday 2020 donors on December 1st.

To determine the 45 organizations whose $1,000 donations will be matched, the participating organizations must have their projects duly registered in #GivingTuesdayPR, reach that amount in donations by December 1, 2020, from 12:01 a.m. until 11:59 p.m., and comply with the rules and regulations established by Alianza. These include, among others: evidence that at the time of issuance of a payment they are still active as non-profit organizations and a notification by email to #GivingTuesdayPR, that the amount of the match ($1,000) was collected, including evidence of the moment in which it was achieved.
