Morgan M. “Mac” Schuessler, Jr. has been our President and Chief Executive Officer since April 2015. Mr. Schuessler has over 20 years of payment industry leadership experience. He has served as President of International for Global Payments Inc., overseeing business in 23 countries throughout Europe and Asia.
From 2008 to 2012, Schuessler served as Global Payments’ Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer with responsibility for the company’s global operations, human resources, corporate marketing and communications, real estate services and money transfer business. Prior to joining Global Payments, Mr. Schuessler served in several leadership positions with American Express, Inc. including Vice President, Global Purchasing Solutions with responsibility for managing the company's purchasing card business globally.
Mr. Schuessler was previously a member of Visa's Senior Client Council and the UnionPay International Member, the international division of China UnionPay (CUP). He holds a bachelor’s degree from New York University and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School where he currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Dean’s Advisory Board. Additionally, Mr. Schuessler serves on the Advisory Board of the Puerto Rico Open, the Island's annual PGA tournament, and is also a member of both Young President's organization (YPO) and Consejo Empresarial de America Latina (CEAL).
Mr. Peter Smith is the Chief Financial Officer of EVERTEC, Inc. Prior to joining EVERTEC in 2015, he served as Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Senior Vice President of Fidelity National Information Services, Inc. (FIS) from May 2013 to May 2015. In this role, Smith was FIS’ principal accounting officer responsible for enterprise-wide accounting operations and systems, financial controls and external reporting. From October 2009 to May 2013 Smith served as Senior Vice President and Segment Controller, position in which he was responsible for managing the finance and accounting functions for FIS’ Payments Solutions Group segment.
Before joining FIS, Smith held finance roles of increasing responsibility at Metavante Corporation from 2005 to 2009 and served as Segment Chief Financial Officer of the Payments Solutions Group of Metavante Corporation from 2008 to 2009. As part of his responsibilities, he teamed up with business partners to successfully acquire, integrate and grow numerous businesses and go public.
Prior to joining Metavante, Smith spent seven years in Silicon Valley and served as the Worldwide Sales Controller of Openwave Systems Inc., beginning in June 2002. Before this role he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the San Jose, CA offices.
Mr. Smith received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and holds a master’s degree in taxation from San Jose State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Ramírez is Executive Vice President of Business Solutions at EVERTEC, Inc. Prior to joining EVERTEC in 2004 Mr. Ramirez was with GM Group. During his 21-year tenure at GM, Mr. Ramírez held various senior positions in product and sales management, ultimately serving as the Senior Executive Vice President of Business Development for GM Group, Inc., Puerto Rico.
Mr. Ramirez received his Bachelor of Science in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He is a member of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce and the Puerto Rico Sales and Marketing Association. Mr. Ramirez has received numerous commendations including the Top Management Award in Sales from the Puerto Rico Sales & Marketing Association; the Service Manager of the Year, Metro Region award from the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association; the People to Watch award in 2009 from Caribbean Business.
Mr. Vizcarrondo is Executive Vice President of Payment Services and head of Business Development & Sales, the ATH Network and Merchant Acquiring Business. Before assuming these responsibilities at EVERTEC in 2010, Mr. Vizcarrondo worked at Banco Popular of Puerto Rico as Vice President of Corporate Banking and as a Portfolio Manager in the Treasury Division of the Bank.
Mr. Vizcarrondo received his Bachelor of Science degree in Management, with a concentration in Finance, from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He is a member of the Puerto Rico Association for Financial Professionals where he is President Emeritus, and Director of the Puerto Rico Pee Wee Football League. Mr. Vizcarrondo has received numerous acknowledgements including a 40 Under 40 award from Caribbean Business in 2012 and a People to Watch recognition from Caribbean Business in 2011.
Philip E. Steurer is Chief Operating Officer at EVERTEC, in charge of Operations, Transaction Processing, Quality and IT Project Management. He joined EVERTEC in 2012. Beginning in 2001, Mr. Steurer served as Vice President and General Manager at PaySys International. In 1999 he was Unit Manager, Credit Services at Sears Roebuck & Company. In 1995 he joined Electronic Data Systems as Manager, Contract Administration and later as Senior Manager, Card Processing Center, at their African division. Prior to this he was a Bank Examiner at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for four years.
Mr. Steurer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance at Notre Dame University in Indiana, followed by a Masters in Finance at Indiana University.
Guillermo Rospigliosi is the Executive Vice President of Product Management & Marketing of EVERTEC. He has 20 years of experience in the Payments, Financial Services, Innovation, and Technology sectors and is passionate about the connection of commerce and technology.
Guillermo held regional Latin American roles in Visa for 11 years. Previous to joining EVERTEC, Guillermo was the Managing Director for Latin America at CyberSource, a Visa subsidiary, where he was responsible for establishing and growing the business. Before Visa, he had previous experiences in Citibank in New York and Banco de Crédito in Peru.
Guillermo was born and raised in Peru. He graduated from University of Lima with a bachelor degree in Business Administration and holds an MBA from the University of Texas in Austin.
Mr. Rodríguez is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, and General Counsel of Evertec. Prior to joining EVERTEC in May 2015, Mr. Rodríguez served as Executive Director at J.P. Morgan’s Emerging Markets Credit Desk in New York.
During his more than 10 years of professional experience in the Puerto Rico, United States and Latin America markets, Mr. Rodríguez also served as Assistant Secretary for the Department of Economic Development and Commerce of Puerto Rico, Vice President of Deutsche Bank Securities Inc.’s Distressed Products Group and Emerging Markets Latin America Credit Trading Group in New York, and as an associate at the law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York.
Mr. Rodríguez possesses a Bachelor's degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. He also holds a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School.
Paola Perez Surillo has been the Internal Audit Director of Evertec for over 5 years. She has a strong background in financial and internal audits, internal controls, project management and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. On December 2011, commenced in Evertec with the implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Program and coordination of the Internal Audit function. In 2013, Paola Perez was named Evertec’s Internal Audit Director by the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. She obtained her bachelor of science in accounting from Fairfield University in May 2005 and is a Certified Public Accountant since February 2009. She worked in Chartis as an External Reporting Manager of the Latin America Region and in PriceWaterHouseCoopers where she worked as the senior associate. During her time in PriceWaterHouseCoopers she worked with different public clients from the financial services and healthcare industries.
Marcelino Zayas is Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Mr. Zayas joined EVERTEC as Auxiliary Vice President of Human Resources in 2007 before becoming Senior Vice President in 2011.
He has worked in Human Resources at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals as Senior HR Consultant, at General Electric as HR Manager, at Johnson & Johnson Medical as HR Professional, at Johnson & Johnson as HR Administrator, and at Reedco-Dentco as HR Representative.
Mr. Zayas earned a BA in Business Management at the University of Puerto Rico and an MBA from Kaplan University. Mr. Zayas is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management. In 2012, he was awarded their Manuel Laborde Award for HR Professional of the Year.
